[ tips & advice ]
- I'm no internet whiz. Can I just hire you guys to do the complicated stuff and walk me through the process?
- Absolutely. Just give us a call and let us know what you need. We'll be more than happy to take care of you.
Choosing a Website Design
Our website packages use professionally designed website templates from top providers who have literally thousands of templates from hundreds of different talented web designers.
- Do I need to pay extra for the website template?
- No, we buy it for you and it's included in the price of your website.
- Can I see some of the website templates before I order?
- Sure, just click templates on the menu and have a look around. You can select your industry in the "Category" field to narrow down the choices.
- Does it matter if other people can use the same website template as me?
- It doesn't matter. Customers come to your website to learn about your products or services, not to see how good you are at designing websites. Besides, there are millions of websites on the internet. You've probably never seen this site before, but even our own site is based on a website template.
- Can you help me pick a good template for my company?
- Of course, just give us a call and we'll recommend some designs for your business and email them to you.
Updating Your Website
Once your website is complete we'll fill in all the content areas with mockup text (also called greeking) and add special "website updating" software so you can update the content yourself.
- Who will be able to update the website?
- The website updating software will be password protected. Only people who know the correct password will be able to update the website.
- Will the website updating software work on my computer?
- The software runs on your website and works with all computers. All you need to access it is a web browser.
- What's all this "lorum ipsum" stuff? Are you guys trying to cast a spell on me?
- Designers often use nonsense or latin text to check the layout. This allows people to concentrate on the overall appearance without worrying about the actual text that will be inserted later. Read more about lorum ipsum.
Marketing Your Website
- How can I tell people about my website?
- Be sure to include your website address anywhere you have information about your company. This includes all your stationary (business cards, letterhead), print and radio advertising, phone book ads, even on your answering machine message "...visit our website at...".
- How do I get listed in search engines?
- Search engines follow links on the internet to find new sites, but you can also submit your site directly to many of them (add your site to google). Keep in mind it can sometimes take several months for a new site to be listed even after it's added.
Standard Website Expenses
Just like having a 1-800 number or a postal box, there's some standard expenses that all website owners need to pay (even us).
If you don't already have a domain name you'll need to register one (small yearly fee) and you'll need to pay someone to "host" your website on the internet (small monthly fee).
- Where should I register my domain name?
- We use and recommend www.godaddy.com for domain names. They charge $8.95 per year for .com names and have a great control panel for managing multiple domain names.
- Where should I host my website?
- We use and recommend www.dreamhost.com. Their basic hosting plan is $9.95 per month and is more than enough for most websites.
Other Useful Services
- Where can I get a logo and business cards designed?

- Where can I buy a great domain name?

One last question...
- And where was that order page again?
- Glad you asked, right here. :)
